For many, the rise of artificial intelligence was the biggest tech story in 2023. Over the last 12 months, ChatGPT became a household name, billions were poured into AI startups, and a new gold rush was kicked off in Silicon Valley.

So what comes next?

Tech goliaths like Meta and Microsoft are pushing to create an AI with ‘general intelligence’, but that is far from the only big story on the horizon.
