Ideo: An "idea-intensive" organization at work
This case describes the “idea-intensive” innovative and creative culture, organization, and selected processes of IDEO, one of the world’s leading product and service design firms. Part of the case discusses the way in which IDEO organizes itself around very talented professionals to maximize their potential to contribute within an extraordinarily successful professional service firm environment. Another part of the case illustrates how IDEO addresses the specific needs of a client in search of new ways to utilize its existing technologies in the market. This part of the case discusses IDEO’s strategies and techniques around brainstorming and creativity for this client. This case is written in conjunction with a series of other cases to illustrate virtuoso performances of organizations or teams that focus on the movement of ideas to create outstanding results.
