Gigacorns are the new-kids-on-the-blocks in the sustainability space. If Unicorns are start-ups that progress to a valuation north of $1bn, companies reaching the Gigacorn status depend on the amount of CO2 emissions that they are able to reduce or to absorb.
In our discussion lead by Professor of Finance Salvatore Cantale and hosted by Honorary President of IMD Dr Peter Lorange, we will start with the common definitions of these companies and show their impact on the world. Then we will classify some of the companies in this space, by discussing cases of companies that managed to reach Gigacorn level.
Through guest speaker Christian Hernandez Gallardoâs experiences at 2150, a venture capital fund, we will hone in on the built environment, efficient technologies, lower carbon-footprint materials, climate tech and other innovation initiatives, covering as well the investment perspective.
Join us for a new webinar mini-series hosted by IMD Honorary President Peter Lorange together with our IMD Faculty and special guests. The series will explore various trending topics, with each event held in a conversational style among host and panellists.
