Ragn Sells: Transforming crisis into circular leadership
Ragn Sells’ turnaround illustrates how a mid sized company can transform crisis into global sustainability leadership. Facing financial difficulties in 2015, the Swedish waste management firm redefined its long term strategy under the guidance of Pär Larshans by aligning with major societal mega trends, planetary boundaries and the UN SDGs.
Over the following decade, the company reshaped its culture and pioneered innovations such as extracting nutrients like phosphorus from waste, reducing dependence on mining. Early recognition, including SDG ambassador status, boosted its credibility. Larshans amplified impact through global knowledge sharing, while exploring emerging mega trends to guide Ragn Sells’ next strategic horizon.
