Once again, four IMD professors have featured in The Case Centre’s list of Top 50 Bestselling Case Authors for 2025/26, highlighting IMD’s continued excellence and impact in case writing, teaching, and research.

Professor Emeritus of Marketing and Global Strategy Kamran Kashani, Professor Emeritus of Strategy Peter Killing, Professor of Management and Dean of Faculty and Research Stefan Michel, and elea Professor of Social Innovation Vanina Farber were recognized.

For Kashani, this marks his 11th appearance on the list since his first recognition in 2016. “At IMD, we are inspired by the real world of executives facing complex challenges that could decide the future viability of their companies. We spend weeks and months researching these cases as learning tools for executives attending our programs. That’s what makes IMD among the top developers of high-quality bestselling cases,” he said.

Killing also celebrates his 11th appearance. Over the course of his career, he has co-authored award-winning and classic cases, including the renowned Nestlé–Rowntree case series.

Michel makes his sixth appearance among the Top 50 Bestselling Case Authors.

“As a case author and Dean of Faculty and Research, it is rewarding to see our collective work recognized,” he said. “We can only work closely with business leaders when we develop new cases grounded in their reality, helping them bridge management theory and practice.”

Following her first appearance last year, Farber joins the list for the second time. “Once another professor teaches one of my cases, it stops being only mine,” she said. “Their students bring questions and readings I never imagined, and the case grows with every classroom it reaches. Knowing that colleagues have chosen to carry these cases forward is what makes this recognition mean so much to me.”

In 2025, IMD sold over 235,000 cases, reflecting the global reach of its case writing and its role in bringing real-world business challenges into the classroom.
