Digital disruption is like a vortex: It exerts a rotational force that draws everything that surrounds it, companies and entire sectors, into its center and drastically modifies processes, business models and value chains.

All industries will be affected by the digital vortex, even those that have been more stable in recent years, and will see competitive upheavals as innovations become increasingly exponential in nature.

When confronted with the specter of such disruption, business leaders must understand the nature of the competitive change that it represents, which technologies and business models will be most disruptive, and what they can do about it.

With this as a backdrop, the leading Swiss German Media company Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) is bringing its event  "X.Days Suisse Romande", dedicated to digital disruption and business, to IMD this week. X.Days will delve into the most pressing issues surrounding digital transformation and look at how current trends and recent developments affect the practical side of business. Business leaders and executives from the region will also enjoy an excellent opportunity to network and gain insights from the featured speakers such as Michael Wade, Professor of Innovation and Strategy at IMD and Director of the Global Center for Digital Business Transformation, an IMD and Cisco Initiative.

Alexa Clay, author of "The Misfit Economy" as well as Deloitte Associate Antonio Russo, and Alastair Curtis, Chief Design Officer at Logitech, will also speak during the evening event.

RTS Journalist Mélanie Freymond will moderate the event and IMD President Jean-François Manzoni will provide an introduction.
