We are looking for evidence-based and actionable insights from academics, business leaders and members of broader society who have a good story to tell. Shorter articles typically range from 600 to 1,000 words; longer pieces can be up to 3,000 words. All content is published online. A curated selection of those is selected for publication in the quarterly magazine.
We are keen to publish actionable original work on any aspect of management. We ask that your article proposals be:
- Based on original research or analysis
In the pitch, please highlight what is new about your pitch and why you are the expert to write it. To be credible, our articles should be written by experts – whether academic experts or practitioners. - Actionable
Our audience will want to put your ideas to work right away – please make clear how they can do so, in both the pitch and article.
How to submit an article proposal to I by IMD
We encourage contributors to send a pitch before writing a full article, which allows us to work with you to develop the idea and format. However, we will also happily consider completed articles.
In your proposal, please send a maximum of 300 words outlining the main thesis of the article, along with the research and other evidence you may draw upon to prove the thesis. Please make clear any relationship you have with the organization about which you will be writing, along with your area of expertise and links to any previously published work.
Please send all proposals to [email protected]. We will respond to your pitch as soon as possible and, if we would like to pursue the idea, we will assign you an editor to work with you on developing the piece.
Thank you for your interest in I by IMD. Please do contact the editorial team if you have any further questions.
