You bring the ambition, we build the leader.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
You bring the ambition, we build the leader.
Meet the leader your ambition demands.
The IMD MBA is one of the most concentrated leadership development experiences in the world. Academically rigorous, deeply personal, and built around a level of access and challenge that only works at this scale.
90 students. One year. Faculty who teach and consult at board level, live projects in real companies, top executives in your classroom every week, a personal coach for the full year, 20 hours with a psychoanalyst, and a career team working with you from the day you accept your place.
How do we build you as a leader?
Leadership is built through a combination of experiences, relationships, and challenges that build over the course of your year, from the Leadership Lab to your year-long executive coach to 20 sessions with a psychoanalyst to understand how you lead.
Every element of the program is designed to work together toward one outcome: the leader your ambition demands.
1 of 90
There’s no hiding.
With a 1:2 student-to-faculty ratio, you’re freer to ask questions and get an answer, and professors have time to engage with your thinking. Recruiters who visit campus leave knowing your name, and the 89 classmates you spend the year with become your sparring partners and connections for life.
Executive access
The people running the companies you want to work for are on campus every week.
IMD’s faculty teach and consult at board level and bring those conversations directly into class. The companies they advise bring live challenges for you to work on, and your guest speakers stay for lunch.
Real learning
40% of this MBA happens outside the classroom.
You’ll work on live consulting projects for companies like Ferrari, the International Olympic Committee, and UEFA. Real briefs, real deadlines, real leaders waiting on your presentation. You’ll be filmed, given specific feedback, and put in situations where you have to think on your feet.
Two key skillsets
Fluent in business, agile in practice.
The functional curriculum covers accounting, finance, economics, strategy, marketing, operations, digital, AI, and sustainability, taught as connected systems. The goal is enough fluency to lead people who know more than you do in their specific domain.
The transversal curriculum builds what sits underneath: structured thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, and the ability to communicate with precision.
Your ambition, accelerated
Career development starts from day one.
From the moment you accept your place, the Career Development Center works with you on where you’re going and what’s standing between you and it. Sector-specific coaching, recruiter events, mock interviews, and a team that knows your story well enough to advocate for you specifically.
One year. Two continents.
New for the Class of 2027: the Future Lab expands to Singapore and Shenzhen.
In June, the program moves to Asia for the Future Lab. In Singapore, you get inside access to how one of the world’s leading technology hubs actually operates, visiting companies like Google, PayPal, and JLL, and meeting the senior executives running them.
From Singapore, you move to Shenzhen for a final week inside one of the world’s fastest-moving innovation ecosystems.
Built together, over twelve months.
You will join 90 accomplished professionals from across the world and industries, all under the same pressure. Their feedback and support is honest because the relationships are authentic. The standard is high because everyone in the room has earned their place.
