As soon as you accept your place in the program, we start working with you to understand where you’re coming from, where you want to go, and what you need to get there. Maybe you’re looking to change sectors, move across borders, or step into a bigger role. With our support, you’ll build a path that’s focused, intentional, and true to you.

The CDC is a dedicated team of multilingual professionals with experience across both business and education. We bring together deep expertise, real-world perspective, and a shared commitment to helping you succeed, not just in your next role, but over the long haul.

Career development at IMD follows a structured three-phase journey that runs across the MBA year. It’s designed to help you stay focused, build momentum, and make meaningful progress toward your goals.

Along the way, you’ll benefit from one-on-one coaching, peer and alumni mentoring, industry speakers, sector-specific mock interviews, and direct engagement with recruiters. Everything is built to help you grow your confidence, sharpen your strategy, and take action at the right time.

Explore

You start with self-awareness.
You’ll reflect on your values, motivations, and strengths, and together we will begin mapping out your future direction. During Careers Launch Week, you’ll explore market trends, job search strategy, and transferable skills, while connecting with your personal CDC coach. Together, you’ll build an action plan that aligns with your goals and gives you clarity on where to focus next.

Prepare

Once you’ve defined your direction, we help you get ready for the market.
From building your CV and refining your LinkedIn profile to developing your personal brand and practicing interview techniques, we’ll help you show up with clarity and confidence. You’ll also explore how AI is influencing recruitment, and conduct targeted research on sectors, companies, and roles to make your outreach informed and intentional.

Execute

With your foundation in place, it’s time to move.
As you begin connecting with companies and applying for roles, we continue to support you through mock interviews, recruiter meetings, and on-campus engagement. During Careers Weeks in September, leading employers visit IMD to meet our MBA talent through company presentations, networking events, and recruitment sessions.
