In a powerful demonstration of resilience and commitment, 106 Ukrainian women graduated from the Women Leadership Program at a ceremony in Kyiv last month. The joint program, a collaboration between MIM Kyiv and IMD, initiated and funded by the Lundin Chair endowment at IMD, is designed to equip women with the advanced leadership skills needed to run organizations and companies in Ukraine, with a particular focus on reconstruction.

“At IMD, we are grateful that we can, together with MIM, offer this executive program to female leaders in Ukraine. This initiative is making a real difference, and we have been extremely impressed by the participants,” said Knut Haanaes, Professor and Lundin Chair at IMD. “IMD is grateful to the Lundin endowment for making this possible and also personally to Christine Batruch for all her contributions.”

As many Ukrainian men are involved in the ongoing conflict with Russia, women have increasingly stepped into senior leadership roles across the private and public sectors. This second program, which ran from June through December last year and was conducted largely online, included modules on strategic thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, and leadership in complex systems.

“We believe that investing in women’s leadership today is an investment in an innovative, sustainable, and values-driven future for Ukraine,” said Iryna Tykhomyrova, President of MIM Business School. “By supporting a new generation of female leaders, we are creating the foundation for our country’s recovery, development, and long-term prosperity in a global world.”

The main goal of the program is to strengthen the leadership capabilities of these critical Ukrainian leaders by providing them with the knowledge, tools, and support to effectively influence the development of Ukraine.
