Honda is developing high-performance AI chips with Renesas and integrating Helm.ai’s vision for hands-free driving, while cloud partnerships with AWS speed software-defined vehicle (SDV) development and EV optimization.
Since 2020, Honda’s digital transformation (DX), led by President Toshihiro Mibe, has overhauled core systems and launched an enterprise-wide generative AI (GenAI) platform. The company upskills employees with digital literacy and “DX Top Gun” training, democratizes Microsoft Copilot® access, and invests in responsible AI deployment via a cross-functional council overseeing privacy, data integrity, and ethical use. In the US, Honda has pledged to train 50,000 workers in robotics and AI by 2025.
Honda’s AI powers real-time quality inspection, predictive maintenance, and CAD design, in partnership with startups like Monolith AI and UVeye. Investments in SiLC’s FMCW LiDAR support Honda’s Vision 2050 goal of zero traffic fatalities.
