“Competitiveness evaluates how a country fosters an environment where enterprises can achieve growth, generate jobs and ultimately increase welfare and prosperity for its citizens”.

In 2019, Belgium ranks 27th on the IMD Global Competitiveness Index and its position is slipping (23rd in 2015 and 22nd in 2016)

We will discuss and see how countries -we can benchmark to Belgium- like The Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, and Sweden rank in the top ten of the world ranking.

Some countries have demonstrated the feasibility to turn around their position. We will explain how they achieve that.

Arturo, Leo and Ivan will highlight the challenges and pathways to competitiveness for Belgium.
