
IMD President and Nestlé Professor of Strategy and Political Economy David Bach has been appointed to the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) Board of Directors.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment, as GMAC – a global non-profit association of leading graduate business schools that brings together future business leaders worldwide with educational opportunities – amplifies on innovation and talent -pipeline expansion.
“At this moment of profound global change and uncertainty, strengthening graduate management education has never been more critical,” said Bach. “Since its inception in the 1950s, GMAC has been committed to ensuring that the most qualified candidates, regardless of background, can access top business master’s programs – a mission I’m excited to support as I join the board.
“As one of the most global business schools with unique exposure to senior business leaders worldwide, IMD has both an opportunity and a responsibility to help shape the future of graduate management education together with GMAC.”
Both IMD and GMAC are committed to driving forward-looking change and equipping leaders with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate tomorrow’s challenges, creating a positive impact on society, and advancing management education.
The newly formed board is chaired by Catherine Duggan, Director of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town and a GMAC board member since 2022.
Joining alongside Bach is Jake Cohen, Senior Associate Dean of Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Ian Fenwick, Director of the Sasin School of Management at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
