Leading change in family philanthropy

As a researcher, educator, and public speaker, Camille investigates why and how business families own and give together. Her work explores how families develop and enact family purpose across generational and organizational boundaries. A seasoned social entrepreneur, Camille has held founding, leadership, and board roles at for-profit and non-profit organizations. Most recently, she served as Senior Associate Director of the Global Family Business Program at Columbia Business School. She holds an MBA from Columbia and a BA from Yale and is currently completing her PhD at Stockholm School of Economics. With a strong academic background and extensive real-world experience, Camille is able to create and deliver strategic tools and frameworks, produce practitioner-oriented thought leadership, and facilitate impactful group sessions that advance family philanthropy worldwide.

Jaimie Mayer is the Founder of Middle Child Philanthropy, partnering with families and philanthropic leaders to transform how values, power, and wealth move across generations.

Jaimie recently completed a seven-year tenure as Chair of the Nathan Cummings Foundation, where she led the organization through significant evolution and alignment. Under her leadership, the Board unanimously voted to shift 100% of the foundation’s assets into mission-aligned investments, partnering with a values-aligned OCIO and deepening its commitment to racial, economic, and environmental justice. She helped guide the foundation toward a more focused, systemic approach to change, launched its first PRI initiative, and oversaw multiple CEO transitions and organizational restructuring efforts.

In addition to her foundation leadership, Jaimie has spent more than 16 years working alongside next generation philanthropists and their families, as well as advising organizations seeking to meaningfully engage emerging leaders. She is a frequent speaker on multigenerational philanthropy, next generation leadership, impact investing, and values alignment in giving.

Jaimie holds an Executive MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and an MFA in Theatre Management and Producing from Columbia University’s School of the Arts. She serves as Vice President of The Mayer-Rothschild Foundation and sits on the boards of the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the National Center for Family Philanthropy, Caramoor, and The Vineyard Theatre.

At the heart of her work is a belief that philanthropy is not only about distributing resources, but about stewarding relationships, legacy, and responsibility across generations.
