IMD is committed to fostering the growth in diversity through our merit and need-based MBA scholarships, which are awarded to candidates who have applied for and accepted an offer to join the IMD MBA program.

The Hilti Scholars Program – Up to CHF 50K

The Hilti scholarship program supports the brightest STEM background MBA scholars by covering roughly 50% of their tuition expenses. This will allow students with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics backgrounds to further their education at IMD.

Funded by a generous donation of Hilti Group and the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein, the Hilti Scholars Program will support 6 IMD MBA scholars per year. The application is considered part of the regular admissions application process.

Submit your essay through the IMD MBA Financial Aid form to apply for the Hilti Scholars Program. The IMD MBA Financial Aid form can be found in the Finance Planning section of your MBA application.

CO-RO scholarship for Danish nationals- CHF 97.5K

At IMD, we are committed to nurturing exceptional talent and are excited to offer a promising Danish student a fully-funded seat in our MBA Class of 2024.

The IMD MBA Assessment Challenge is an engaging and immersive online event where you will collaborate with a carefully chosen group to carry out a series of team-based and individual assessment tasks. This is your golden opportunity to broaden your horizons, glean insights from others, and captivate our admissions panel with your innovative approach.

The Staton Scholarship – CHF 50K
  • Deadline to apply : 15 September
  • Criteria : Be a citizen of Latin America (excluding Brazil) and return for at least three years after graduation. The scholarship will be transformed into a loan should the candidate not return to Latin America.
  • Essay : “The role of entrepreneurs in moving my country forward and my contribution to that goal.” (750 words).
  • Submit the IMD MBA Financial Aid Form and supporting documents.
  • Recipient confirmed by 18 October.
The BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women – Full scholarship & living expenses

 - IMD Business School

  • Deadline to apply: 1 July
  • The scholarship provides a transformational experience to talented and driven women who may have believed that an MBA program was out of reach due to limitations and disruptions in their professional paths. These could include family obligations, forced migration and financial constraints.
  • Essay: “Tell us, how, as a displaced woman, an MBA at IMD will be transformative for you and indirectly for other women.” (500 words).
  • Submit the IMD MBA Financial Aid Form and supporting documents.
  • Recipient confirmed by 1 September.
The Nestlé Scholarship for Women – CHF 25K
  • Deadline to apply : Throughout 2024 (available until allocated)
  • Criteria : Preference given to women from developing countries (Employees of Nestlé or its subsidiaries are not eligible).
  • Essay : “Building a diverse and inclusive workplace requires the participation and accountability of each member of the organization. What would you recommend as ways for Nestlé to better foster allyship amongst employees?” (750 words).
  • Submit the IMD MBA Financial Aid Form and supporting documents.
Women Leaders Scholarship & Assessment Challenge – CHF 50k

The IMD MBA women’s leaders challenge is an intense, dynamic, and interactive online experience during which you will join a preselected group to complete various assessment activities. This is your chance to stretch your thinking, learn from others and innovate to impress our admissions panel.

Those who make the most impact and who demonstrate strong leadership potential will be invited for an interview. Successful candidates will be offered a place in the IMD MBA 2025 program and the winner will receive a CHF 50,000 scholarship towards our tuition fees.

  • Recipient confirmed by: 01 September 2024
Young Leaders Scholarship & Assessment Challenge – CHF 50k

The IMD MBA Young Leaders Assessment Challenge is a dynamic and interactive online experience during which you will join a pre-selected group to complete various assessment activities. This is your chance to stretch your thinking, learn from others and innovate to impress our admissions panel.

Those who make the most impact, who contribute most to the idea generation and who demonstrate strong leadership potential will be invited for an interview. Successful candidates will be offered a place in the IMD MBA 2025 program and the winner will also receive a CHF 50,000 scholarship towards our tuition fees.

Criteria: 24 – 28 years old with at least 2 years work experience. Bright with solid achievements, and the drive to unlock your full potential.

Key dates:

15 May 2024: deadline to submit your assessment challenge application.
01 July 2024: Final decision.

Forte Women Scholarship – CHF 30k

Forté strives to launch women into fulfilling, significant careers in business through access to education, career opportunities, and a community of successful women. IMD is proud to partner with Forté to support our mutual goal of achieving female representation across the corporate spectrum.

Each Forté Scholarship is automatically awarded to the best all-round female applicant. Recipients typically have a high GMAT/GRE score and clearly demonstrate qualities such as career progress, an international outlook, an open mind and strong interpersonal skills throughout their MBA program admissions application and assessment day.

German Engineer Scholarship – CHF 30K

Criteria:

  • Be a citizen of Germany and demonstrate a strong engineering background
  • Academics : strong GMAT score and GPA
  • Work experience : career progression and international exposure
  • Ability to contribute to the overall learning experience of your class

 

IMD MBA merit scholarships – CHF 30K, 40K or 50K

The IMD MBA merit scholarships are awarded to applicants who shine throughout the admissions process, demonstrating their potential as both an impactful future leader and an ambassador of IMD.

At least 50% of these scholarships are allocated to women as a part of IMD’s commitment to supporting and raising the profile of women in business and strengthening the dynamic network of women across our programs. Up to 10 scholarship available per deadline.

Criteria:

  • Academics : strong GMAT score and GPA
  • Work experience : career progression and international exposure
  • Ability to contribute to the overall learning experience of your class

 

Bursaries – up to CHF 20k

Your future potential is important to us and we are committed to encouraging applicants who will bring valuable contributions to the overall class. If you need financial assistance, please be sure to apply for a Bursary at the same time as your admissions application and contact one of our loan providers (see our External Funding section for more information). 

  • Deadline to apply: same as admissions application
  • Your bursary application form can be found directly on your admissions application
  • Criteria : Proven financial need, good academic results, strong reference letter, and steady career progression
  • Recipients confirmed on an ongoing basis

External funding

LendwiseSallie Mae and Prodigy Finance are our loan providers as they offer student loans focusing on higher education at top schools. We also work with GradRight for Indian nationals.

Applications should ideally be submitted as soon as you are accepted into the program if you want to ensure timely disbursement for the third and fourth tuition installments. If you want to forecast your budget in advance, you might also be able to apply before being accepted.

Should you be unable to secure a loan based on nationality restrictions, please contact our Finance Committee and we will work with you to investigate alternative solutions.
