IMD business school for management and leadership courses
Chevron’s leadership increasingly ties AI to strategy and demand growth. In January 2025, the company partnered with Engine No. 1™ and GE Vernova™ to develop up to 4 GW of natural-gas generation co-located with US data centers to meet AI’s electricity needs. Chevron describes pilots with AI-equipped autonomous drones for facility inspection and anomaly detection to enhance reliability and safety. Operationally, AI/ML is embedded across their operations to optimize drilling and remote operations. Robots and computer-vision systems now inspect storage tanks to detect corrosion and plan predictive maintenance; digital twins simulate refinery operations so teams can plan, operate, and troubleshoot more safely and efficiently; and low-cost sensors feed equipment health data into ML models. For workforce development, Chevron expanded GenAI training to around 5,000 employees globally in 2024 and trained 175+ leaders plus 200+ practitioners to promote and oversee AI transformation. The company is a member of the Responsible AI Institute.
