IMD Scholarship Foundation

The IMD Scholarship Foundation is an independent foundation. The purpose of the IMD Scholarship Foundation is to provide scholarships to future IMD students, who demonstrate exceptional academic, personal, and professional achievements, and whose financial circumstances do not allow them to otherwise pursue IMD programs. The Foundation facilitates IMD’s fundraising initiative and supports IMD’s mission to attract the best applicants to its programs.

The governing bodies of the Foundation are:

  • The Foundation Council;
  • The Selection Committee; and
  • The Auditor

At least two members of the Foundation Council must be members of the Foundation Council of IMD. Other members must be individuals who have a link with the purpose of the Foundation by virtue of their documented past opinions and commitment.

The Selection Committee is the Foundation body charged with awarding grants and determining the criteria for scholarship awards.

The Selection Committee shall be comprised of between three and six members, including at least one member of the Foundation Council. A majority of the Selection Committee members must have links with IMD.

Under all circumstances, only individuals who have a link with the purpose of the Foundation by virtue of their documented past opinions and commitment shall be considered for these positions.

The Selection Committee shall be competent to issue rules and directives setting the criteria and conditions for awarding the grants, as well as the type of financial assistance to be granted. When adopting these rules, the Selection Committee must adhere to the following principles:

  • The individual financial circumstances of the applicant must not enable him/her to defray the costs of the study program that he/she wishes to complete or the costs associated with it (living costs, accommodation, food, etc.);
  • The applicant must have accomplished exceptional academic, personal and professional achievements;
  • There shall be no discrimination on the grounds of origin, sex or race;
  • The Selection Committee shall be competent to decide whether to award scholarships to prospective students. Its decisions shall be final and may not be appealed against.
