Time 19:00 - 21:00
Speaker(s) Dr Howard Yeager, Emeritus Professor of Chemistry, University of Calgary

Do recent extreme weather events signal that the Earth’s climate is changing, or are they just part of natural variability? Many have strong opinions about this, from sceptics to those who signal dire warnings. If our climate is changing there will be major consequences for our economy and living standards, not just locally but on a global basis. This talk is about what is actually happening to our weather and why, and what is probably in store for Western Canada in the coming decades.

For its inaugural event, the IMD Alumni Club of Western Canada is pleased to invite you to an exclusive panel on Climate Change. We will be honored to have as exceptional guest, Dr Howard Yeager, an emeritus professor of chemistry at the University of Calgary, formerly Chemistry Department Head and Associate Vice-President (Academic and Planning).

Please contact Carmine Fiume ([email protected]) to confirm your attendance. Registration fee is $25 per person.
