IMD business school for management and leadership courses

At its March 2024 Investor Day, Cigna leaders framed generative AI (GenAI) and machine learning as critical engines for future growth. Governance and ethics matured in parallel: Cigna’s cross-functional AI Center of Enablement enforces principles of transparency, accountability, and safety, ensuring that each new model meets rigorous guardrails before deployment.

AI now powers tangible products. A June 2025 release added a conversational virtual assistant, real-time cost tracker, and provider-matching algorithms to the myCigna® portal, while a separate GenAI member bot streamlines benefits questions by voice or chat. Behind the scenes, AI-driven claims-handling and workflow automation boost accuracy and speed, freeing human agents for higher-value support.

Recognizing talent as a prerequisite, Cigna launched an AI-enabled internal marketplace that maps skills for 74,000 employees, enabling targeted reskilling and mobility. Meanwhile, Cigna Group Ventures invested in startups like 9amHealth and Autonomize AI, expanding the ecosystem of clinically focused, compliant AI solutions.
