The IMD Alumni Club of Lausanne committed to creating a new, merit based, scholarship for future participants in IMD’s leadership-centric MBA program. The first scholarship (CHF 50,000) will be awarded to the best all around MBA candidate accepted from the first of the program’s four application deadlines, on February 1st 2019.
“The club opted to create the scholarship as we are convinced that the MBA program is fundamental for the reputation of IMD; attracting the best possible candidates to join the MBA program is therefore an absolute must. We also believe it’s a great way to maintain close ties with the IMD community,” said Jean-Daniel Loparco (EMBA ‘05), President of the IMD Alumni Club of Lausanne, independent board member and advisor.
The Lausanne Alumni Club is independent of IMD but shares close ties with the school.
The club organizes roughly eight, well-attended events and a number of after-work drinks per year in the Lausanne area, bringing together a wide-range of IMD Alumni. Events organized by the club feature a mix of accomplished leaders from across all business sectors, inspiring speakers from outside of the business world as well as informal networking sessions.
“We chose to award the scholarship to a future participant in the MBA because we believe in the program’s impact and its emphasis on developing responsible leaders,” said Serge Pittet (MBA ’87), Lausanne IMD Alumni Club Committee Member and independent consultant.
The new scholarship is made possible thanks to the contributions of its over 1’000 members.
“IMD and the MBA program are grateful to the Lausanne Club for their generosity in providing a new scholarship. It will help us attract even more outstanding candidates and give young promising managers the learning and development experience of a lifetime,” said Seán Meehan, Dean of the IMD MBA Program.
