IMD has ranked fifth in The Case Centre Impact Index 2025/2026, which measures the global reach and impact of organizations’ case writing and ranks the top 50.
“By working closely with organizations and drawing on the challenges they face, we create learning materials that connect management theory with practice and equip leaders to make a real impact,” said Professor of Management and Dean of Faculty and Research Stefan Michel.
“This recognition reflects not only the quality of our cases but also their global impact, extending IMD’s reach beyond our campus to educators and executives worldwide.”
Since the index was launched in 2023, IMD has consistently ranked among the top five institutions worldwide. The Index uses data from the previous academic year, assessing how widely cases are adopted by examining the number of cases used, the organizations and countries they reach, and the number of students who learn from them.
“The Impact Index provides a unique insight into the reach of cases across business schools worldwide. It is wonderful to see both established leaders and new names represented in this year’s top 50, reflecting the breadth and continuing importance of the case method in business management education,” said Vicky Lester, Chief Executive Officer of The Case Centre.
In 2025, IMD sold over 235,000 cases, reflecting the reach of our faculty’s contributions to management education in bringing real-world business insights into the classroom.
