A Simple Approach To Complex Problem Solving: FrED
As an executive, you constantly face complex problems. Solving them intuitively can be disastrous, but too much analysis can also end poorly. What you need is a versatile approach customizable to each of the problems you face. During this session the speakers will present and discuss a three-step process that we call FrED – frame, explore, decide – to help us solve complex problems from all walks of life. To make the concepts come alive, Fred Turner, Retail Director at Fuller’s, will be sharing his experiences applying the FrED methodology to the post-covid strategy at Fuller’s.

UK club interactive peer coaching event
How are you leading during the New Normal? In our club event held in December 2021 ‘Leading through the New Normal with Professor George Kohlrieser’, the polling survey said >90% of respondents would be interested in a peer coaching forum to discuss leadership topics.
This was also endorsed by George as a good way to build leadership resilience in challenging times.
We are delighted to invite you to an online peer coaching event with the purpose to facilitate supportive discussion in small groups on leadership topics and challenges amongst IMD alumni.
The event will start with a short talk from professional leadership coach Dean Michelli. Then participants will be put into breakout rooms in groups of 3 to share their own challenges in turn and seek advice and perspective from the others.
After breakout sessions, key insights will be shared in an informal plenary setting.

*To ensure psychological safety for all of our participants, we ask everyone to join on time. We will not be able to admit any late comers after the breakout room discussions start.*

Cybersecurity: The New Threat Landscape
Over the past few years, and especially with the pandemic, we have been observing an increase in volume and frequency of cyberattacks.
But one particular threat, namely ransomware, has been devastating to organizations, regardless of size, industry or digital maturity, like no other threat type that came before.
In this session, Professor Öykü Işık will guide us through the mechanisms enabling ransomware to be this disruptive, and discuss mitigation and response strategies.

Leading through the ‘new normal’
In the context of the ‘new normal’, leadership has changed dramatically from command and control to a model based on trust and collaboration. Psychological safety is the foundation of building that trust in a world where uncertainty, threat, and danger too often exists. A Care to Dare model of leadership shows you how to become a Secure Base Leader so that you release your followers from the fears that get in the way of their performance. It shows you how you can unleash astonishing potential by building the trust, delivering the change, and inspiring the focus that underpins sustainable high performance.
