Amit Joshi

Professor of Digital Marketing and Strategy |Fellow, Global Center for Digital Business Transformation

Amit Joshi is a Professor of Digital Marketing and Strategy at IMD. He is an expert in Digital Marketing and strategy, digital media, big data, data analytics and AI. He is Program Director of Digital Analytics. Amit’s research, which focuses on long-run marketing strategy, analytics and marketing effectiveness has been published in top journals, including Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Culture and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. His research has twice won the MSI / H. Paul Root Award, for the best paper in the Journal of Marketing (2010 and 2015), in addition to the Robert D. Buzzell Best Paper Award (2006) for the MSI publication with the most long-term impact. His research has also been extensively covered in the popular press, including NPR, CNN, NBC, Fox News and Bloomberg. Amit earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune, and then a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (P.G.D.M.) from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India. His Ph.D. is from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Carlos Cordon

Lego Professor of Strategy and Supply Chain Management | Fellow, Global Center for Digital Business Transformation

Professor Cordon’s areas of interest are digital value chains, supply and demand chain management, digital lean and process management. He is the author of numerous articles and case studies in these fields, and over the past few years has won various prizes for his cases and articles on supply chain management, outsourcing, and process management.
Professor Cordon is also a consultant to multinational companies in the electronics, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, car, and other industries. He has designed and directed numerous executive development programs in the areas of digital and strategy journeys, supply chain management and sourcing. Professor Cordon studied civil engineering at the Escuela Politecnica de Barcelona and holds a PhD in Management from INSEAD. Prior to the completion of his schooling, he was Manager in the manufacturing and distribution consulting group of Accenture, and later MIS Manager of Grupo Español General Cable (now a subsidiary of BICC).

Cyril Bouquet

Cyril Bouquet helps organizations reinvent themselves by letting their top executives explore the future they want to create together. As a professor at IMD, Cyril is doing research that has gained significant recognition in the field. His PhD dissertation won the Academy of International Business 2014 Richard Farmer Award. Since then, he’s published one book “Building Global Mindsets” (2005), and several academic articles in the most prestigious academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Management, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Harvard Business Review France. Cyril is part of the faculty team launching the program TransformTech – in collaboration with EPFL (Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Cyril was educated in France and Canada, having received a PhD degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, and an International MBA from the University of Ottawa.

Didier Bonnet is Affiliate Professor of Strategy and Digital Transformation at IMD. Professor Bonnet areas of expertise cover digital economics, digital strategy, innovation and the process of large-scale digital transformation for global corporations. He is also a strategy consultant and EVP with Capgemini Invent, where he leads the digital transformation practice. He has more than 30 years' experience in strategy development and business transformation for global clients and has worked in over 15 countries. At IMD Didier teaches in several open programs related to strategy and digital transformation such as the "Leading Digital Business Transformation" (LDBT) program and the "Digital Transformation for Boards" (DTB) program. He is also involved in designing custom digital programs for large global organizations. Didier provides consulting services, executive education, expert and coaching advice to senior leaders on strategy and digital transformation in a variety of industries ranging from telecom to banking, high-tech, insurance, consumer goods, media, transport and industrial goods.

Goutam Challagalla

Goutam Challagalla is Professor of Strategy and Marketing at IMD. His teaching, consulting, and research focuses on strategy with a focus on digital transformation, business-to-business commercial management, value-based pricing, sales management, distribution channels, and customer and service excellence. At IMD, he is Faculty Director of the Digital Marketing Strategy (DMS) program and several custom programs for B2B, B2C, and Pharmaceutical industry clients. His research has been published in top marketing and management journals such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Dissertation Award at UT-Austin, the Decision Sciences Institute's best paper award, American Marketing Association's best Services Paper award, and the Maynard Award. He has won the E. Roe Stamps Excellence in Teaching Award and the Core MBA Professor Teaching Award at Georgia Tech. Professor Challagalla's undergraduate degree is from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. His MBA is from Arizona State University and his Ph.D. is from the University of Texas in Austin.

He is the author of the award-winning book LEAP: How to Thrive in a World Where Everything Can Be Copied. In 2015, Professor Yu was selected by Poets&Quants as one of "The World's Top 40 Business Professors Under 40," and in 2018 he appeared on the Thinkers50 Radar list of thirty management thinkers "most likely to shape the future of how organizations are managed and led."

Jennifer Jordan

Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior | Fellow, Global Center for Digital Business Transformation ional Behavior

Jennifer Jordan is a social psychologist and is Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at IMD. Professor Jordan's teaching, research, and consulting focus on the areas of digital leadership, ethics, influence, and power. Her work has appeared in several scientific journals including Administrative Science Quarterly, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management and Business Ethics Quarterly. She was also a contributor to the books, Leadership at the Crossroads: Psychology and Leadership and The Handbook of Organizational and Managerial Wisdom, as well as an editor of one of the seminal scientific books on wisdom, Handbook of Wisdom: Psychological Perspectives. Her work has been mentioned in mainstream publications from The New York Times to De Volkskrant (Netherlands). Professor Jordan received her doctoral degree and two masters degrees (Masters of Philosophy and Masters of Science in Psychology) from Yale University (United States). She is a member of the editorial board of the journals Leadership Quarterly and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.

Professor of Innovation, Strategy

Mark Greeven is Professor of Innovation and Strategy at IMD. Drawing on a decade of experience in research, teaching and consulting in China, Mark explores how to organize innovation in a turbulent world. He has been collaborating with innovative Chinese companies and entrepreneurial multinationals to explore novel ways of organizing, accelerating corporate innovation, designing business ecosystems to thrive on uncertainty. He is a fluent Chinese speaker. On the "2017 Thinkers50 Radar list of 30 next generation business thinkers", an annual ranking that the Financial Times deemed the "Oscars of Management Thinking". Mikolaj Jan Piskorski

Mikołaj Jan Piskorski is a Professor of Strategy and Innovation at IMD. He is an expert on digital strategy, platform strategy, and digital business transformation. He is the Director of the Digital Business Excellence open enrollment programs, and a co-director of Leading Digital Transformation program. He also leads the global UBS Senior Leadership Program, Siam Commercial Bank digital transformation program, Daimler Digital Business Transformation Program, and Skanska Top Executive Program. Professor Piskorski’s research has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, American Journal of Sociology, Management Science, and Social Forces. He also authored a book called: A Social Strategy: How We Profit from Social Media, published by Princeton University Press in 2014. Professor Piskorski received his B.A and M.A. (Cantab) from the University of Cambridge, where he read Economics and Politics at Christ's College. Subsequently, he received his A.M. in Sociology and Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University.

Ralf Seifert

Professor of Operations and Strategy

Professor Seifert's primary research and teaching interests relate to operations management, supply chain strategy and technology management. He has also worked on industry analysis, competitive strategy and new venture formation. Professor Seifert is Director of the Digital Supply Chain Management program. Since joining IMD, he has designed and directed numerous company-specific general management programs. He has actively coached more than 50 project teams and served as consultant and speaker to various multinational companies. Based on his work with companies, Professor Seifert has co-authored more than 30 case studies covering different industries. These efforts have been recognized by multiple international case awards granted by EFMD in 2020, 2018, 2012, 2009 and 2003, ECCH in 2011 and 2006, as well as POMS in 2004. He continues to actively research issues of supply chain strategy, supply chain finance and technology management and has more than 80 articles and international conference presentations to his credit. In addition, he co-authored three books: most recently one on digital supply chain challenges, one focused on strategic supply chain management, and another one concerning start-up challenges of technology ventures. In parallel to his appointment at IMD, he is a tenured professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne where he has held the Chair of Technology and Operations Management (TOM) since 2003.

Robert Hooijberg is Professor of Organizational Behavior at IMD. His areas of special interest are leadership, negotiations, team building, digital transformation and organizational culture. He published two books: Leading Culture Change in Global Organizations and Being There Even When You Are Not: Leading Through Strategy, Structures and Systems. His research has appeared in such journals as the Sloan Management Review, Academy of Management Learning and Education Journal, the Leadership Quarterly, the Journal of Management, Hospital and Health Services Administration, the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, the Journal of Management Education, Administration and Society, the International Journal of Organizational Analysis, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He has provided programs for and consulted with companies such as: KPN, Carlsberg, Royal FrieslandCampina, Axiata, AIA, Vale, Wavin, Ernst & Young, DSM, Rabobank, Axel Springer, Credit Suisse, EMC, Novo Nordisk, DNV, HSBC, Unilever, and many others. Professor Hooijberg has a PhD from the University of Michigan.

Stefan Michel

Professor Michel's major research interests are in customer-focused strategy, service innovation and digital pricing. He is the Dean of the IMD Executive MBA and as a Board Member at Bossard Holding AG. He serves as the President of the Swiss Marketing Foundation (GfM) and as the faculty representative at IMD’s foundation board. Stefan’s work has appeared in journals including Harvard Business Review, California Management Review, MIT Sloan Management Review and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Professor Michel holds an MBA and a DBA from the University of Zurich, both summa cum laude and won several international awards for his research and for teaching excellent. As a pioneer in the field, he published his dissertation on e-Banking in 1997, which received the 1997 Best Dissertation Award, granted by the Swiss Society for Market and Social Research

Stéphane J.G. Girod is Professor of Strategy and Organizational Innovation at IMD. His research, teaching and consulting interests focus on agility transformation, at the strategy, organizational and leadership levels in response to digital, globalization and other forms of disruption.
He is Program Director of Reinventing Luxury: Strategic Conversations and Program Co-Director of Digital Execution. He also directs the Mazda, Telenor and Midea programs and EMBA Discovery Expeditions in China. Professor Girod's sectoral expertise is in Luxury Goods and Services, Retail, Banking, Automobile and Consumer Goods. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Harvard Business Review, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal and Long Range Planning, as well as in the Journal of Business Strategy and European Business Review. His thought leadership has been covered by the popular press and media, including Forbes, China Daily, The Economist Intelligence Unit, Womens' Wear Daily, BBC News, Télévision Suisse Romande, Valor Economico, La Vanguardia, Tribune de Genève, Luxury Society, HandelZeitung and The Times.

Tawfik Jelassi

Professor of Strategy and Technology Management | Fellow, Global Center for Digital Business Transformation

Tawfik is Co-Director of the OWP program in Lausanne and Singapore, the school’s largest executive education program. In 2014-2015, he served as Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and ICT in the transition-to-democracy Government of Tunisia. He was from 2000 to 2013 Professor and Dean of the Business School at Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris), and from 2011 to 2014, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ooredoo Tunisia. In the 1990s, Dr. Jelassi was Associate Professor and Chairman of the Technology Management Department at INSEAD. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University. His research focuses on digital business transformation and leadership in turbulent times. It has appeared in his six books (including “Strategies for e-Business”, 2014) and in over ninety research articles in leading conference proceedings and academic journals. He was granted several research and teaching excellence awards, and the President of Tunisia awarded him two national decorations: the “Order of Merit in the fields of Education and Science” and the “Order of the Republic”.
