Sulzer Metco: Strategy for the surface technology market
This case deals with the future strategy for Sulzer Metco, recently merged, in the worldwide thermal spray industry. The company needs to determine its appropriate focus in the equipment and systems business, in the materials or consumables segments, and how to enter the spray services segment. Discussion can be held around the key success factors for each segment and the appropriateness of a global vs regional strategy.
