The WWF global network has gone through a major re-structuring of their decision-making structure, involving all parts of the organization – except the board. What changes are – if they are – necessary for the board structure.

Learning Objective

Corporate governance for NGOs is just as important as for business enterprises. But the structure and the goals of an NGO are very different from those of a business enterprise, including responsabilities for different stakeholder, difficult evalutation of performance indicators and therefore issues with transparency, different ownership-structure with clear implications for the board etc.
