Rohner Textil AG (A): Surviving the impossible
During the late 80s and early 90s, Albin Kaehlin, the managing director of Rohner Textil AG, a Swiss textile mill specialized in upholstery fabrics, had been applying a number of innovative ecological solutions to the many challenging problems facing his company. By reconciling economic and ecological goals in an ambitious modernization strategy he managed to turn environmental risks into market opportunities. The A-case describes how Rohner Textil AG ensured its survival by creating a market niche for its new sustainable fabrics.
