Stakeholder understanding and management has become central to high-quality corporate governance, particularly as organizations are increasingly interdependent with a wider range of stakeholders around them. Despite the importance, without board member training, many boards struggle to understand the complex dynamics presented by stakeholders and the strategic implications of stakeholder management.
With IMD’s Stakeholder Management for Boards, participants will explore new ways of thinking about stakeholder dynamics and gain diverse tools that lead to best-in-class stakeholder management.
The learnings were second-to-none and made a lasting impression with regard to safely challenging assumptions and beliefs about stakeholder management. The program is one of the best learning experiences I’ve had and has been hugely impactful.
The program widened my perspectives on the relevance of all stakeholders and helped me determine which stakeholders to prioritize and how to focus on them.
There’s been concrete value from learning what I didn’t know about the complexity of external relationships and what we, as boards, need to be aware of. Good things came from the program with regard to making and justifying decisions around stakeholders. The discussions around this and the model we used were really helpful.
Using different standpoints and perspectives and looking at how you handle stakeholders and their competing interests is so important. That has been made very clear in the program.
