The IMD Alumni Club of Canada hosts outstanding learning and networking event in Toronto

Canada’s Business Newsmaker of the Year addresses large crowd of IMD Alumni

The IMD Alumni Club of Canada recently held a well-attended event which featured Marc Caira, an IMD alumnus and Canada’s Business Newsmaker of the Year (2014), as guest speaker.

Marc is Vice-Chairman of Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of Tim Hortons and Burger King. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for Hydro One and Minto Homes. During his 40-year business career, he has served as CEO of Tim Hortons, on the Executive Board of Nestle SA as CEO of Nestle Professional, and CEO of Parmalat North America.

He provided attendants with the inside scoop on the blockbuster $12.5 billion Tim Hortons / Burger King / 3G Capital transaction and current plans to grow the iconic Tim Hortons brand worldwide.

Marc also discussed his personal rise to success as part of a southern Italian family which immigrated to Canada.

The participants were treated to a candid, insightful and fascinating story.
