In May of this year, the first three recipients of the IMD Ukrainian Scholarships completed their Executive Education programs in Lausanne. This milestone of academic success is even more significant as these scholarship recipients accomplished it less than three months after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
Nine scholarships have been awarded so far to Ukrainian nationals to participate in IMD’s General Management and Leadership Programs. A further scholarship was given to a Ukrainian candidate in the Executive MBA program. The recipients come from all walks of life, and have worked across public and private sector companies, in family businesses, at venture capital firms and in start-ups, in government, as well as in Non-Governmental Organizations.
These achievements were made possible thanks to the remarkable support of the IMD donor community, faculty and staff during Institute’s first Giving Day last December. IMD also matched the funding received. By giving so generously, IMD Alumni and friends have provided recipients whose lives have been disrupted by the war the chance to gain new leadership skills.
The Ukraine Scholarship Support Fund was established earlier this year to support a cadre of resilient, inspiring, and determined business leaders, ready to lead Ukraine along its path to recovery.

The Ukraine Emergency Scholarshipsare administered under the IMD Scholarship Foundation, whose purpose is to support IMD to attract the best applicants from under-represented groups to its programs.
