Christian Dummett has been appointed Assistant Dean and Director of Career Development. In his role, he will be a key contributor to the continued growth and excellence of IMD’s MBA, EMBA, and master’s degree programs. Dummett will oversee career strategy, recruiter engagement, and the career development curriculum across IMD’s degree programs, and will form an integral part of the school’s newly formed Degree Programs Office.
“I am delighted to join IMD because it was founded by business executives for business executives and embodies a vision for the future with forward-looking initiatives. Learning about what’s happening in business from people connected to business, and how to foresee and tackle business model disruption, together give IMD participants a huge advantage. Recruiters today want agile employees who can quickly adapt to the changing needs of business,” he said.
Dummett joins IMD from London Business School where he has spent a decade in senior career services and senior management roles, including the last five years as Executive Director and Head of the Career Centre. Prior to joining LBS, he had a distinguished career in international finance, including a stint in Switzerland at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.
“One thing that sets IMD apart is our proximity to leading global enterprises,” explained David Bach, Dean of Innovation and Programs. “With Christian’s help, we will be even better positioned to meet the talent needs of our corporate partners and to set up our students for purposeful and impactful careers.”
“We are all very excited to welcome Christian to IMD with his wealth of experience in the field of careers and track record of progressing student careers globally” shared MBA Dean and Hilti Chair Omar Toulan. “Bringing Christian on board is part of a wider effort to further enhance our career development capabilities and provide the best support possible to our students.”
Led by Associate Dean of Degree Programs Ian Rogan (MBA 2008), the Degree Programs Office leverages IMD’s extensive resources to provide best-in-class shared services and systems related to recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and career development across the MBA, EMBA, master’s, and future degree programs.
Dummett will assume his new role in April.
