Navigating Global Disruption: Strengthening Malaysia’s Competitive Edge in an Uncertain World

Join us for an in-person masterclass featuring Professor Arturo Bris, Douglas Geertz IMEDE 1988 Professor in Geopolitics and Business, Professor of Finance, and Director of the IMD World Competitiveness Center, from IMD.

In this session, Professor Bris will share the latest insights from the IMD World Competitiveness Center, exploring how today’s geopolitical tensions, supply chain restructuring, inflationary pressures, and rapid technological shifts are reshaping the global competitiveness landscape.

The session will zoom in on Malaysia’s current standing, unpacking the country’s strengths and vulnerabilities in a region marked by economic flux and intense competition. Professor Bris will also focus on the effects of global trade shifts and supply chain restructuring on Malaysia’s competitiveness.

Finally, participants will gain practical perspectives on how Malaysian organizations can strategically adapt—by turning external challenges into opportunities, building resilience, and leveraging the country’s unique economic characteristics to sharpen their competitive edge.

During this session, you will:
1. Navigate the New Geopolitical Reality

Understand how global trade shifts and geopolitical tensions impact Malaysia’s competitive edge in key sectors.

2. Prioritize Competitiveness

Identify critical areas Malaysia must strengthen—like infrastructure or tech readiness—to boost global competitiveness.

3. Adapt to Trade Pattern Shifts

Explore how evolving trade dynamics create both risks and growth opportunities for Malaysia in global value chains.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from one of the world’s leading voices in competitiveness and global economics.
