IMD business school for management and leadership courses

Oracle’s AI strategy has evolved significantly from its early focus on data mining to becoming a key player in AI. Historically, Oracle concentrated on embedding machine learning (ML) into its products, particularly through the Autonomous Database and AI-driven applications, helping businesses detect potential performance drops or outages.

In June 2024, the company announced the development of a new cloud service specializing in building and training large language models (LLMs). Collaborating with Cohere, a Toronto-based startup, Oracle’s founder and CTO, Larry Ellison, outlined how the company is enabling enterprise customers to easily train their own specialized LLMs while ensuring the privacy of their training data.

Oracle is also revolutionizing its product development process by using GenAI tools to generate code, a move they claim accelerates application development and reduces security flaws.
