An Entrepreneur's Journey: From Concept to Exit and Beyond
Have you ever wondered what it is like to start, groom and grow and ultimately sell a business in Singapore? And what kind of negotiation techniques can be successful for the entrepreneur?
Come and hear about it first-hand from Jes Johansen (MBA alumni of 2001), who has done exactly that.
Jes is the co-founder and CEO of Store Friendly Self Storage Group Pte Ltd (storefriendly), which he started in Singapore in 2011.
storefriendly is a franchise holding business specializing in self-storage. The company was built and sold within four years, with an original exit format: Jes sold the company to a large local player and competitor. He successfully negotiated an earnout arrangement as well as the possibility of a brand buy-out.
Jes will discuss the process of starting a company in Singapore, growing pains, competitive analysis, the franchise model and buy-back, valuation aspects and deal negotiation. He will also focus on the ‘hesitant entrepreneur’ aspect and what, in his mind, it takes to be an entrepreneur.
Come prepared with questions and expect the session to be highly interactive and fluid.
