A commitment to China and the world

The IMD-CKGSB Dual Executive MBA has been designed for high-potential, internationally minded executives with at least 10 years' experience, who are deeply committed to pursuing a career that leads the way between China and the world.

The program is intended for participants from around the world who are seeking to develop their business skills and capabilities to work effectively with China, and for Chinese participants looking to develop business ties with the rest of the world.

The program mastery stage starts in November, with the aim of approximately equal representation of Chinese and non-Chinese executives.

I was looking for something beyond a standard EMBA program and found it with the IMD-KGSB Dual EMBA. You learn about two different cultures, two different ways of thinking and about what motivates people. And that is a tremendous help when you go back to developing business strategies and objectives. You learn to work in a different way, where collaboration and helping people realize their full potential is the focus rather than competition and human "utilization". This program isn't led by one school on two different campuses, but brings together the knowledge and expertise of two top-ranked business schools, one from the East and one from the West - and that is the real beauty of the program. The structure in brief

The IMD-CKGSB Dual Executive MBA consists of two stages - the foundation stage and the mastery stage.

The program design requires you to be out of the office for a minimum of seven weeks over an average of 18 months. At the Foundation Stage, with its flexible modular format, you have a choice of 2 different residential modules - one with a western perspective and one with an eastern perspective, and a distance learning component.

  • Foundations for Business Leadership (FBL) West 1 x 20 days at IMD
  • Foundations for Business Leadership (FBL) East 1 x 10 days at CKGSB + distance learning equivalent to 10 days work

You can opt for one or both of these residential modules. As an alternative to the route of FBL West + FBL East, you may choose to take only one residential module of Foundations for Business Leadership, and then opt for a distance learning module called Advanced Management Concepts, which can be completed without time away from your office.

  • Advanced Management Concepts (AMC)

Any of these routes will provide you with the foundation you need to be ready for the mastery stage.
During the Mastery Stage you will take five one-week modules, comprising four core modules and one international discovery expedition.
