Professor Toegel is a teacher, facilitator and researcher in the area of leadership and human behavior.

Specialized in providing one-to-one leadership coaching and team-building workshops to top management teams in both the public and private sector, her major research focuses on leadership development, emotion in organizations, dual careers, and coaching.

Ginka Toegel has also been involved in executive programs at the London Business School and the Duke Corporate Education. She has directed or taught on leadership development programs for companies such as ABB, ArcelorMittal, Barclays, Danone, Deutsche Bank, DSM, Ericsson, Ernst & Young, Heineken, Kone, Nestle, Neste Oil, Société Générale, Swisscom, Swisscanto, WWF as well as many other organizations. She received the Innovation in Teaching Award at the London Business School in 2001 and a Major Review Teaching Prize at the London School of Economics in 2006.

Professor Toegel has published articles among others in the Academy of Management Journal, Personnel Psychology Journal, and Academy of Management Learning & Education. She has served as a Program Chair and a Division Chair on the Board of the Management Consulting Division of the Academy of Management. She received the Best Symposium Award of the AOM Management & Education Division (2002), the MCD Award for outstanding practice based paper (2005), and awards for outstanding service as AOM division reviewer (2006 and 2007).

Prior to commencing her academic career, she worked as a psychotherapist and as a senior manager in a non-profit organization.

Ina Toegel is Professor of Leadership and Organizational Change at IMD. Her teaching activities invoke experiential learning and focus on a wide range of topics – from individual self-awareness and leadership skills to team dynamics and team leadership.

Ina's research focuses on organizational change management, top management teams during corporate renewal, and founder influence. She is a member of the Academy of Management and of the Strategic Management Society, and she regularly presents at the Organizational Development and Change division during the Academy of Management's Annual Meeting. 

Among the industries that Ina Toegel has explored are those of luxury, hospitality, additive manufacturing, and infrastructure. Her experience includes working with companies such as UEFA, Audemars Piguet, and the International Finance Corporation. Before beginning her PhD, Ina was part of the World Bank and worked on projects for structuring public-private partnerships in the energy, transport, and waste sectors of Southeast Europe.

Prior to joining IMD, Ina Toegel has taught at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.

She holds a PhD in Management from INSEAD (France), an MSc in Management Research from Saȉd Business School, Oxford University (UK), and a BA degree in economics from Columbia University (USA).
