Open Programs

In 2022, a record number of participants joined our various open enrolment programs, on campus and virtually, and many programs reached capacity over several sessions.

OWP returns to campus

After three years, IMD’s signature Orchestrating Winning Performance (OWP) program returned to campus, both in Lausanne and Singapore. The Singapore edition, in November, was the largest ever open enrolment program run by IMD outside of Lausanne with 242 participants at the South-East Asia Campus in Singapore, building on the 450 that we welcomed in the middle of summer to Lausanne.

This return to campus in large numbers was seen across our comprehensive portfolio of programs, including our long-running Leadership, General Management, and Digital Transformation programs, alongside the growing activities in Board and Governance and Sustainability.

“What I took away from Transition to Business Leadership is that I can be a human and an executive leader at the same time. And I’m using this very deliberately in my communication.”

Sofie Irgens, Senior Vice President, Head of Climate Solutions Accelerator division, Danfoss, Denmark

New partnerships, new programs

We continued to innovate across programs and launched two new partnerships during the year. The Building Digital Ecosystems program was launched initially in a virtual format with China-based CKGSB. This program leverages the strengths of both IMD and our proximity to the business community, as well as CKGSB and its position as the first privately funded and research-driven business school in China with strong links to the entrepreneurial community.

“IMD and CKGSB bring in top industry practitioners to give you deep insights into high-performing digital ecosystem players and newcomers from US and China. In the era of digital transformation for all business globally, it is either building your digital ecosystem or being a part of one. The program is very well designed and delivered.”

The new Driving Sustainability from the Boardroom, with the World Council for Sustainable Business Development (WCBSD), highlights the critical role of strong and consistent corporate leadership around sustainability. The first session saw a broad range of organizations and industries collaborating on how to integrate this at board and governance levels. This complements our Leading Sustainable Business Transformation program launched in 2021, which continued to grow in 2022 and almost doubled enrolment across the year.

Coaching and leadership development have long been a core part of IMD’s programs and in 2022 we introduced the IMD Coaching Excellence Certificate (IECC). This four-module learning journey builds on developing and embedding coaching essentials, before allowing participants to develop and drive this in an entirely personalized fashion toward International Coaching Federation accreditation.

Coaching is critical in today’s professional environment, for leaders, individual executives, and organizations. IECC gives the tools and approaches to take directly into your environment and create impact across the organization.”
