Roche Diagnostics Belgium (B): Cultural and Digital transformation

The Roche Diagnostics Belgium (RDB) case study consists of two parts: Part (A): “Changing a Winning Formula?” and Part (B): Cultural and Digital Transformation. The cases focus on the transformation initiated by General Manager, Anna-Maria Heuchel-Reinig.

Although Roche Diagnostics Belgium had solid financials, an experienced leadership team and a strong reputation as an exemplary company within the Belgian market, Anna-Maria Heuchel-Reinig initiated a cultural and digital transformation. Case B (Cultural and Digital Transformation) focuses on the year of transformation.

The case outlines the critical decisions and actions Anna initiated to steer the transformation, engage customers and staff and address concerns in the leadership team. Focusing on cultural transformation was a pre-requisite to prepare the company for digital transformation. As with any change, this shift was met by some with a degree of surprise and questioning that needed to be expertly navigated. Was her assessment that the organization needed to change correct? What was the impact of this fast-paced transformation?

Case B provides the opportunity for participants to assess the introduction of transformation to an already successful business.
