Globalization in a post-pandemic world – what comes next?

Aim

Will the COVID-19 pandemic leave us with a less globalized world? Will it fundamentally change how companies do business across borders? These questions have occupied much of the global business discourse ever since the burst of the pandemic, with rising doubts about the future of globalization in the aftermath of COVID-19. The reality is that the pandemic represents both a threat and an opportunity to globalization. In the face of such ambiguity, it is critical to look at the data and disregard perceptions that may be misleading.

Drawing on extensive research and the latest data, this Discovery Event covers what you really need to know about globalization. It will help you appreciate the current state of globalization and dismiss the misconceptions related to what is really changing about globalization; understand how COVID-19 is set to shift the playing field globally and how companies are organizing themselves to compete across borders in a post-pandemic world; and provide you with best and worst practices on how companies can navigate through post-pandemic globalization’s turbulences.

Outcomes for participants

  • Understand today’s state of globalization and address common misconceptions about what is changing about globalization

  • Be introduced to the laws of globalization and how they can be used to identify key trends in a post-pandemic world

  • Hear about successes and failures on how companies responded to the pandemic and how they are revising their global strategies to compete in the aftermath of COVID-19

Target audience

For executives and decision-makers who need to navigate globalization’s turbulences and think about building their businesses in the aftermath of COVID-19.

For managers who need to take decisions on how to compete across borders and where to do so in a post-pandemic world.

Agenda

This will be an immersive series of half-day long virtual workshops, broken into 4 sessions of about 75 min each. Each session will consist of short faculty input, polls, directed discussions, followed by debriefs. The flow for the two days will be as follows:
