Freelance UX Designer

We are looking for a talented UX Designer to join our team in Lausanne. IMD is an independent business school, with Swiss roots and global reach, expert in developing leaders and transforming organizations to create ongoing impact. For the last 7 consecutive years, IMD has been ranked TOP 3 in executive education worldwide – FIRST in open programs (Financial Times 2012-2018). 

You will be involved in our Human-Centred Design process by helping us to create and evolve our digital products.

You will play a key role to make the bridge between the user, the business stakeholders and the development team. You will collaborate with the rest of our UX and UI designers to ensure coherence.

Advocating for the user is part of your principles, you aim for consistency and you consider usability a must. You understand the continuous life cycle of a product in an agile environment and you know how to play the UX role. You feel comfortable in all phases, from research and early prototyping to usability testing and hypothesis validation.

 
Responsibilities: 

 

  • Act as user advocate during development: subject early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offer implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective 
  • Lead interface design, work with UI developers for interface consistency and ease-of-use
  • Advise on usability, accessibility and visual appearance of existing and new features
  • Produce UX deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, sitemaps etc
 
Your Skillset:

 

  • At least 3 years experience as UX professional, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
  • Passion for usability and visual consistency
  • Understanding of user-centred design methodology
  • Agile Development process experience
  • Software Skills: Adobe Creative Suite, ideally familiar with Sketch, knowledge of Jira is a plus
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken 
  • Content Management Systems and responsive web design
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong team spirit. Works independently and as part of a united team
  • Adept at bridging creative solutions serving customers with high expectations
  • Multi-tasks well and meets very tight deadlines 
  • Ability to constantly test ideas, eliminating the non-essential 
  • Flexible, able to work under pressure and communicate priorities within the project’s team
  • Enthusiastic, positive, dynamic, self-motivated, well organized
  • Passionate about great design and customer experience
