Experience & Background

Sander Nieuwenhuizen is an international business leader in the field of HR with a particular emphasis on culture, values and leadership and a focus on the personal side of business.

He started his career with General Electric in Paris in 1988, joining their human resource management program. Over the last 30 years he has held increasingly senior HR positions alternating operational HR business partner roles with more strategic roles in organization and leadership development.

After the very American GE and Allied Signal, Nieuwenhuizen joined two distinctly European companies: Lafarge SA in Paris, then Shell International in The Hague.

Most recently, he was the Talent Partner and CHRO for Deloitte in The Netherlands where he initiated and led a major culture change initiative.

He graduated from University of Amsterdam Law School with a specialization in international law and philosophy of law.

Nieuwenhuizen works globally and has lived in France, the UK, and the US. He currently divides his time between Zürich and The Hague, and is a student at ISAPZürich, the International School for Analytical Psychology. He is also a partner in two wine bars in Amsterdam.
