Join us for a three-hour virtual session led by Arturo Bris that explores Europe’s evolving place in a rapidly shifting global landscape. Drawing on his recent research, Bris re-examines Europe not as a continent in decline but as one shaped by strong institutions, social cohesion and a distinctive model that continues to influence global norms.

The session will investigate what sets the European approach apart at a time marked by geopolitical tension, technological disruption and environmental urgency. We will look at the region’s long-standing assets — regulatory stability, emphasis on quality of life, commitment to sustainability — and how these strengths compare with those of other global powers. The discussion will also consider areas where Europe faces pressure to adapt, from competitiveness and innovation to migration, energy transition and defense.

A central theme will be Europe’s identity: how its cultural and political diversity shapes ambition, decision-making and its capacity to act collectively. Participants will be invited to reflect on the opportunities and constraints that this diversity creates and what it implies for Europe’s future trajectory.

This session is intended for leaders, policymakers and anyone interested in geopolitics, societal development or regional strategy. It offers an opportunity to engage directly with Arturo Bris and explore informed perspectives on Europe’s potential paths forward.

Who is this for
