CLEAR - Cultivating Leadership Energy through Awareness and Reflection

Bridge the gap between knowing and doing

While as a leader, you may know what is required of you and how to be effective in theory, it is all too easy in a pressurized environment to slip into habitual, less helpful behaviors that quickly drain your energy and de-authorize your leadership.

This gap between knowing and doing is what CLEAR aims to bridge. This new program gives you the time and space to become aware of what really matters for your organization, your team and yourself in all aspects of your life.

Achievable results

  • Develop your self-awareness and capacity for reflection to enable you to renew and regenerate
  • Close the knowing-doing gap, identify and develop new capabilities through regular practice and feedback
  • Become highly impactful and influential in your organization and your personal life
  • Build and connect with a global community of like-minded peers
  • Be clear on the personal and professional legacy you want to establish

Enjoy multi-faceted, integrated leadership development

Whereas other leadership programs may only focus on one of the leadership dimensions such as, enhancing personal leadership or improving your ability to lead teams, a distinctive benefit of CLEAR is that it develops all four dimensions of your leadership in an integrated way – personal, team, organization and also positions your leadership in the broader context of society.

CLEAR will show you how to drive performance and enable real change by cultivating your leadership energy and learning to direct it for personal and organizational good. You will develop your competitive edge by discovering how to tap into, develop and direct the energy of those around you.

Prior to your arrival, you will undertake extensive preparation, including several assessments and data collection from the people who matter most in your life.

During residential modules, IMD faculty and coaches will enable your learning using a variety of methods including case discussions, simulations, outdoor exercises and role plays. Each day, time will be set aside for reflection and rejuvenation. And each module will conclude with a detailed development plan to facilitate your transition back to the “real world.”

Between modules, you will be introduced to additional learning material and engage in regular follow-up conversations with your coach and colleagues to ensure that you do not revert to unhelpful habits and behaviors.

After graduation, you will be invited to join the CLEAR alumni group and connect with other graduates who meet on an annual basis to broaden their learnings and have frank, confidential exchanges.

You also join IMD’s exclusive alumni network, connecting you with top senior leaders worldwide.
