Meet your Program Director

Guiding participants on their Building on Talent learning journey is Program Director Salvatore Cantale. Energetic and passionate, Professor Cantale's research focuses on value creation, valuation, and the way in which corporations structure liabilities and choose financing options, particularly the relationship between finance and business leadership.

A former finance professional with a large investment bank in London, Professor Cantale combines a rigorous academic background with a grounding in the professional world. He has published in international double-refereed journals. One of his research papers, "Bank Capital Requirements and Managerial Self-Interests," was nominated for an Outstanding Paper Award at the Southern Finance Association.

Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour

Jennifer Jordan is a social psychologist, her research focuses on the areas of leadership in the age of digital disruption, ethics, influence, and power.

Arturo Bris

Arturo Bris is Professor of Finance at IMD. His research and consulting activities focus on the international aspects of financial regulation, and in particular on the effects of bankruptcy, short sales, insider trading, and merger laws.

Michael R. Wade

Professor of Innovation and Strategy

Michael holds the Cisco Chair in Digital Business Transformation and is the Director of the Global Center for Digital Business Transformation, an IMD and Cisco Initiative. His areas of expertise relate to strategy, innovation, and digital transformation.

Benoit F. Leleux

Stephan Schmidheiny Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance

Dr Leleux is the Stephan Schmidheiny Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance at IMD in Lausanne (Switzerland), where he was also director of the MBA program (2006-2008) and director of Research and Development (2004-2008).

Carlos Cordon

Professor of Strategy and Supply Chain Management

Professor Cordon’s areas of interest are digital value chains, supply and demand chain management, digital lean and process management. Carlos is currently developing research and cases in the following areas: the digital journey of traditional companies.

Stéphane J. G. Girod

Professor of Strategy and Organizational Innovation

Stéphane's research, teaching and consulting interests focus on agility transformation, at the strategy, organizational and leadership levels in response to digital, globalization and other forms of disruption.

Knut Haanaes

Professor of Strategy and International Management

Knut is Dean of the Global Leadership Institute at the World Economic Forum. His research interests are related to strategy, digital and sustainability.

William A. Fischer

Professor of Innovation Management

William A. Fischer is a Professor of Innovation Management at IMD. He co-founded and co-directs the IMD program on Driving Strategic Innovation, in cooperation with the Sloan School of Management at MIT and also authors a regular column for Forbes.com entitled “The Ideas Business,”

John W. Walsh

Professor of Marketing

John W. Walsh frequently consults on issues of marketing strategy, consumer behavior, pricing, distribution, and market research, and has consulting experience in industries spanning telecommunications, health care, tourism and leisure, consumer goods, banking, computing, and consumer electronics.
