During the course of 2022, IMD faculty published seven books exploring such themes as problem solving, technology, talent, and competitiveness. To honor graduates of its MBA program on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, IMD also published a history of the program featuring 50 alumni.
Three IMD-authored works were recognized with business book awards.
Hacking Digital by Michael Wade, Didier Bonnet, Tomoko Yokoi and Nikolaus Obwegeser won the 2021 bronze medal in the Axiom Business Awards (networking category).
Resetting Management by Stéphane Girod and Martin Králik was a Sustainability Finalist in the Business Book Awards 2022 and featured in CEO Today Magazine’s list of the top 10 “Books to Help CEOs Thrive in the New World of Work”.
ALIEN Thinking by Cyril Bouquet, Jean-Louis Barsoux and Michael Wade was highly commended in The Business Book Awards.

The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY), first published in 1989, is a comprehensive annual report and worldwide reference point on the competitiveness of countries. It provides benchmarking and trends, as well as statistics and survey data based on extensive research.

Amid this fast and disorienting pace of change, many are instinctively looking to political leaders and world-renowned experts for answers. As a result, important conversations that should be going on have been conspicuous by their absence. In particular, these are conversations that should involve young people.

To remain relevant, management education must reflect the realities that influence its subject matter, while at the same time addressing societal needs and expectations.

When done right, marketing can make a real impact. But it needs fuel from customer insights.
