|Speaker(s)||IMD Prof. Ginka Toegel|
To be true role models, women managers need to acquire an authentic leadership style with presence and impact. In this session, we will discuss why emulating men is not enough for women to be successful leaders and how barriers to authenticity can be removed. In fact, women lead more effectively by being themselves. We will also examine the different expectations people have towards female (relative to male) executives and the implications with regard to verbal and non-verbal communication. The discussion will also focus also on executive presence: “How to use body language and voice to project confidence”.
Professor Toegel is a teacher, facilitator and researcher in the area of leadership and human behavior. She is the program director of Strategic leadership and Mobilizing people and has extensive knowledge on diversity issues. She has set-up the Strategic Leadership for Women, the only “Women only” course at IMD.
