|Speaker(s)||Daniel Pinto, CEO of Stanhope Capital & Book Author|
The CEOs of the largest western corporations have lost the sense of entrepreneurship and long term risk taking. They have become producers of quarterly results desperately trying to meet the unrealistic expectations of nomadic financial shareholders. Corporate boards are somewhat paralysed by the fear of shareholder lawsuits. The result? Less research and development, less capital expenditure. In short, less of all the elements which create long term value for companies and entire nations.
What can we do to reenergise our large corporations and reposition the entrepreneur at the centre of Western capitalist model?
Daniel Pinto is Chief Executive and co-founder of Stanhope Capital, one of the leading independent asset management and advisory groups in Europe. He also founded New City initiative, a think tank that aims to make finance work for the economy again.
Graduated from Paris Institute of Political Science and Harvard Business School, he serves on the Board of Directors and investment committees of several companies around the world.
