Once again, the IMD Alumni Club of Geneva has committed to celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 5th. It is always a pleasure for me to welcome a talented woman in our cycle of events as I think this an important date in our busy calendars.

This year we will welcome Anoush der Boghossian, Head of Trade and Gender at the World Trade Organization who will present a conference on 

"Trade and Gender: highlights on the World Trade Organisation and World Bank joint study"

Ms. Anoush der Boghossian leads the work on trade and gender in the World Trade Organization (WTO). She was appointed the WTO's first focal point on trade and gender by Director-General Roberto Azevêdo in 2017. Anoush is a senior member of the WTO's Development Division.

The discussion will explore the political and economic context in the WTO and internationally of the current debate related to trade and gender. It will also highlight the conclusions of the WTO-World Bank joint study, looking at of some of the most salient economic dimensions of trade and gender. The session will end with forward looking ideas on women's empowerment.
