Speaker(s) George Kohlrieser, Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour, IMD

“When you choose to learn new things, try out new experiences, take risks and develop a positive mindset in others, you create an environment where you can fulfil your potential and that of others”. These words are from Distinguished Professor George Kohlrieser, who will together with Co-Founder of ToBeDeveloped Marco Vrijburg facilitate our first Alumni event in 2020 on Thursday 6 February. The event is for anyone who wants to more deeply understand leading self, leading others, and leading organizations. Our host for this evening will be The FLOW©.

George Kohlrieser

George Kohlrieser is professor of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour at IMD. He is also the Bestselling author of Hostage at the table and Care to Dare and a former hostage negotiator.

“The question of why we lead, especially its meaning and purpose, continuously evolves. It reflects the many transformations we experience throughout our work and life. It is directly connected to how engaged we are and how much joy we experience. This also applies to employees and their levels of engagement and motivation. Failure to continually develop meaning and purpose throughout a career can lead to destructive consequences both personally and for the organization. During this IMD alumni event he will ask: What was your original meaning and purpose, how has it evolved and changed over time, what is it now, and what could it be in the future?”
