Speaker(s) Mary MacKinnon

Moving to, living in and working or going to school in a foreign country is not for sissies – even if it is the result of a choice and one has a great deal of enthusiasm for the move. An international relocation is exciting, but also stressful, exhausting and emotionally charged for many months before and after.

Moving back to one’s home country is even more stressful for most people and all the more so because it is not what they expect.

Adapting to international relocation both outward bound and homeward bound is as tough as it is rewarding – and rewarding it is. So, in this session Mary MacKinnon will outline and encourage discussion about the 4 most important elements in the adaptation process. With good preparation it can be a great deal smoother and more successful for everyone concerned.

Featuring Mary MacKinnon, based on her book ''The Global Staircase. A Handbook For People Relocating Internationally''.
