Team IMD gives great showing in annual Dragonboat Festival
Fun for a good cause
Competing with other leading companies from the area, IMD's team set a new record for our institution in being placed first in the first early morning race. In the overall performance, the team ranked 10 out of the 25 participating boats.
"It was a bit chilly this year on the lake, but the energy in coming together for a great cause, meeting new people and getting to know colleagues better, made the event a day of great fun,"said, Kathy Schwartz, IMD's Head of PCFA Operations, and IMD's key link to organizing the dragon boat team.
This marks the 9th year that the ESCA has hosted the festival, aimed to raise awareness of cancer and help the lives of those touched by the disease.
In addition, coming together on the Lac de Joux always succeeds when it comes to networking, both internally for IMD and in the community. The fun and informality of the race serves its purpose in making this event a winner for all no matter who actually ends up winning the race.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 4, 2016. Next year is the 10th anniversary of the ESCA Dragon Boat Event. IMD is going to make a special effort to make it more fun, more competitive and with many more IMD faculty and staff members joining this great team event.
